Sitting all alone in my living room, while my little dragonoid was asleep, I began flipping those yesteryears albums and one album in particular put a smile on my face.
It was an album filled with memorable photos during my Sec School , Sec 4 & 5 in particular.
Those were probably the best time of my secondary life. There were a total of 7 Sec 4 & 5 classes.I was in class 4/7 and subsequently 5/7 ... Sounded like the last class huh ?? hhmmm...But it was not to be..We were the only group of students who took Literature for N & O levels and was so called the best class in that level. While my other friend were busy with their Arts and Techinical projects, me and my buddy (Ashikid) juz laze around whole day "reading" our Literature books. Not that we understood what we were reading. Till now, I still wondered why the hell did I take up Literature when I myself don't really read books back then. and the Answer : I was too lazy to do those long term Arts and Technical projects. I was never good at any any of those then (...and probably now). Futhermore, I thought Literature was easy because I only need to read books and memorize the storyline but not till I had to do Shakespears !. I remembered having to read ROMEO & JULIET in Old English format that sounded strange and alien to me then. I was too lazy to read the book thus I borrowed the movie, Romeo & Juliet instead. Romeo wearing those tight pants and Juliet look all BLONDE...Woohooo. Only the Video Tape interest me...
Throughout the 2 yrs of studying literature, no book have ever interest me as much as the book called " The Outsides" from SE Hilton. It was the only book that I really took the time to read ever single details and having to understand the characters and its storyline and then I got to see the movie ... It was AWSOME .... The actors in the movie were made up of famous actor such as Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Ralph Manchio (Karate Kid), Emilo Estaves, Thomas C Howell and Mr Misson Impossible himself, Tom Cruise. When the movie was made, these people were not even famous yet.
Anyway, back to the story, it was basically about the life of rich and poor kids having to struggle to create their own identity. It was very rock and roll type. Something like GREESE but non musical and packed with drama.
I recommend this MOVIE too all. A real classix with gud soundtrack from STEVIE WONDER.
I would give this movie 4.5 / 5 ratings.
